Aisling is regularly invited to give vocal technique workshops for choirs in Ireland and the UK and runs a private vocal studio. Her students include young professional singers, third-level music students and amateur choral singers. She has recently led workshops for the National Opera House, Cork Choral Festival’s Conductors’ Course and Choirworks, The Charles Wood Festival of Music and Summer School, Limerick Early Music Festival and the All Ireland Choral Intervarsities. She was vocal coach on Sing Ireland’s International Choral Conducting Summer School and the Kodály International Summer Course. She has worked with Irish Youth Choir as soprano tutor and mentored young singers on Sestina’s education programmes. This year she was an Artist in Residence with Ark Schools in London where she coached young singers on their Inspiring Excellence programme. She regularly facilitates workshops for choirs with Mark Duley and Resurgam.
Aisling has lectured in music performance at DCU, NUI Galway and DkIT. She regularly gives vocal workshops on the MA in Choral Studies and on DCU’s Choral Leadership Days and has given master classes at Cork School of Music. Aisling has experience in choral direction and has co-directed and produced full scale musical theatre productions including South Pacific, No No Nanette, and The Yeomen of the Guard at DkIT. She adjudicated at the Derry Feis and has deputised at the Irish College of Musical Theatre. Aisling is comfortable teaching various styles of singing in addition to classical including musical theatre, pop and folk.
Aisling works frequently with the choirs of St Nicholas’ Schola Cantorum and has enjoyed working with many choirs in recent years including AIB Choral Society, Athenry Youth Choir, Cantoiri Avondale, Capella Lyrica, Cois Cladaigh, Continuum Youth Choir, Coro Italiano, Cuore Chamber Choir, Credo Vocal Ensemble, Dublin Bach Singers, Dun Laoghaire Choral Society, Ferry Blend (Scotland), Fidelity Choir, Galway Baroque Singers, Galway Choral Association, Glor CIT Choral Society, Gracenotes, Laetare, Limerick Choral Union, Momentum Community Choir, Mornington Singers, UCD Community Choir and Vox Orbis. She is a graduate of Maynooth University and Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Aisling enjoys working with singers of all ages and given her extensive background in choral singing, she is particularly interested in helping choral singers explore their vocal technique.
