She is a part-time lecturer in music performance at DCU, where she gives vocal workshops on the MA in Choral Studies and on DCU’s Choral Leadership Days, and at NUI Galway. She was vocal coach on Sing Ireland’s International Choral Conducting Summer School and the Kodály International Summer Course and has given master classes at Cork School of Music. She recently led workshops for Cork Choral Festival’s Choirworks and Limerick Early Music Festival and was soprano tutor for Irish Youth Choir’s spring course. She regularly facilitates workshops for choirs with Mark Duley and Resurgam and is a mentor to young singers on Sestina’s education programmes. She works frequently with the choirs of St Nicholas’ Schola Cantorum and has enjoyed working with many choirs in recent years including AIB Choral Society, Cantoiri Avondale, Capella Lyrica, Continuum Youth Choir, Coro Italiano, Cuore Chamber Choir, Credo Vocal Ensemble, Dublin Bach Singers, Dun Laoghaire Choral Society, Ferry Blend (Scotland), Fidelity Choir, Galway Baroque Singers, Galway Choral Association, Glor CIT Choral Society, Gracenotes, Laetare, Limerick Choral Union, Momentum Community Choir, Mornington Singers, UCD Community Choir and Vox Orbis. Aisling enjoys working with singers of all ages and given her extensive background in choral singing, she is particularly interested in helping choral singers develop their vocal potential. She has used this time of lockdown to further her vocal pedagogy training by attending courses all over the world from her studio in Galway and is enjoying helping many choral singers develop their own technique while we look forward to the days when we can sing together again safely.
Aisling has worked as a choral conductor and has co-directed and produced full scale musical theatre productions including South Pacific, No No Nanette, and The Yeomen of the Guard. She has deputised at the Irish College of Musical Theatre and is comfortable teaching various styles of singing in addition to classical including musical theatre, pop and folk.
